Caring for the Incarcerated
Are you a caregiver of a child whose parent or parents are incarcerated? As a caregiver, you are my hero! Your job is so important and it’s a hard job requiring sacrifice. You are the person God wants to use to influence and love this child. God wants to break the cycle of sin and hurt that is too often passed from generation to generation. God wants to heal your family.
That’s why I lovingly ask you, are you saved for Jesus? Are you growing in the love and grace of Christ Jesus? You need God’s help. You need Jesus because that is how God gives help in life situations.
God sent His Son Jesus to die, crucified on the cross, for your sins so you could be pardoned if you believe or put your trust in Christ Jesus. The Bible says, for all have sinned. God wants to bring the love of Jesus into the situation you find yourself.
God has also given His written Word, the Bible to help you. God’s Word is truth. God’s Word is living and powerful. Spending time with Jesus in the Word brings comfort, peace, clarity and discernment over the decisions you have to make as a caregiver. God has entrusted you with a precious life, the child of a person who is incarcerated.
God has given the gift of prayer. Prayer is really an ongoing conversation with the Lord Jesus, who intercedes for you, and who brings God’s Will into any situation. God knows your situation.
God is a personal God through His Son Jesus. God’s written Word is powerfully healing and life changing when obeyed.
May you be overwhelmed by the Love of Christ Jesus today. Amen.
