3 Things About Jane

  1. I Love Jesus, my Lord and Savior

God is faithful to His Word and He pursued my young heart. I attended kindergarten at a Christian school and then my family moved. In my new neighborhood, a young missionary couple invited the neighborhood kids to a bible program. My heart opened to the truth of Jesus and I was given a small bible. Even though I was not raised in a Christian home, I read that little bible. I loved to read and God drew me to Himself by the power of His written Word.

  2. I Love God’s written Word, the Bible.

God’s Word is life changing and I saw it in my own life as well as in the lives of women in jail. Here’s an example that played out over and over. A woman would sit across the table impatient to get a book or magazine with an attitude of intimidation to get what she wanted. Then God would overwhelm my heart with His love for this hurting, broken and angry or mean woman sitting before me. I would share about Jesus through the Scriptures and offer to pray for her. I saw the power of God’s love through His Son Jesus as emotional walls slowly broke down in the lives of women incarcerated. I saw the healing power of Christ Jesus.

My love for Jesus grew naturally as I read and obeyed His Word. It has been a slow and steady pace with lots of ups and downs. God is faithful and He continues to pursue my older heart.

  3. I Love being a grandma!

And one of the joys of growing older is being a grandma!
